Kia ora readers,
We’re a group of young New Zealanders with an interest – some say obsession – in politics. The team thought you might like to know a little bit about us, so here goes. Stuff yourselves with these feeds!

illuminatedtiger
Illuminatedtiger is a university student from Christchurch. His interests include politics, movies, music, technology and travel. He is left of centre on social issues and believes in a well funded social welfare state including government funded health, education and welfare for those who require it. He also believes society should be inclusive and fair for all, and doesn’t believe that big money should have a place in a transparent healthy democracy. He is well travelled having visited England, Australia, Hawaii, Vietnam and Singapore and has taken university papers in subjects as diverse as political science, computer science, mathematics, geography and education.
Policy Parrot
“The blogger known as Policy Parrot is an interesting mix. He is a Commerce student at the University of Canterbury, holding a BA in PolSci, yet did not foresee either of these two options at commencement of university.
Hailing originally from rural New Zealand, whilst to the left, PP views’ on a vast variety of topics are what would be best described as slightly unconventional.
Ahead, he looks to continue towards Chartered Accountancy status after graduation, and hopes to be in a position that could assist in drafting and enforcement of tax law.”
hcjs
hcjs is a high school student from Wairarapa. He sits to the left of the political spectrum. hcjs’ focus in politics lies around labour/employment issues, human rights and social development. He believes elections are about ideas not money and believes that our political system should be one that is transparent and fair.
Joshrv is a one time National Party supporter, now a Left-leaning stooge and fan of Winston Peters. His political beliefs are not easily categorised, but he considers himself to be a modern liberal.

Robinsod
He may well be the most reviled leftwing blog commenter in New Zealand and isn’t going to tell you anything that could identify him because of the plethora of violent threats that have been made against him by the charming psychopaths that make up the right’s grassroots support base. He likes long romantic walks on the beach and candlelight dinners. Please feel free to email him your thoughts at mickyporton[]hotmail.com as he is currently editing the 2009 edition of Penguin’s Collected Moronic Hate-speech.
redbus
Bus is a small town boy, livin’ in a lonely world. He took the midnight train going anywhere… Somehow he ended up here at NewZblog, keen to see the year through with some fairly good commentary of the political scene.
Ideologically speaking he’s to the Left, with a strong belief in harbouring a welfare state and has an unashamed contempt for rigid capitalist systems. Though is not bothered with deviating from spectrum sides to support typically rightist views, such as New Zealand’s status as a constitutional monarchy.
I think it’s also worth noting that The Soprano’s was and still is the greatest.
